Beds & Bed Frames
Our beds are built from solid reclaimed elm, with open grain, knots and the soft shifts in tone that come with old timber. The Hayes is a low platform frame on square block legs, with wide elm slats that hold your mattress directly, so no box spring is needed. It comes in queen and king and stands about 14 inches high. To finish the room, see our nightstands and dressers.
FAQ
Do I need a box spring?
No. The elm slats support the mattress on their own, so you can set your mattress straight onto the frame.
How low is a platform bed?
The Hayes frame stands 14.25 inches high. With the mattress on top it sits lower than a traditional bed, which keeps the room feeling open and pairs well with low nightstands.
What sizes are available?
Queen, at 83 by 61 inches, and King, at 83 by 73.25 inches. Both are 14.25 inches high.
Is the frame solid wood?
Yes. The legs, rails and slats are all reclaimed elm, with no veneer. Each frame shows its own knots, grain and small marks, so no two are identical.
