Console Tables
Console tables in solid and reclaimed wood for entryways, hallways and the wall behind a sofa. Most are reclaimed elm, with its open grain, knots and weathered surface, alongside pieces in reclaimed pine and oak, mango and rattan.
The range runs from slim consoles like the Elm Console Table and the beam-like Reclaimed Elm Beam Console Table, which is only 15 inches deep, to consoles with storage underneath, like the Niva Elm Console Table.
For the slimmest pieces, see Narrow Console Tables. Our Reclaimed Wood Console Tables show the knots and nail holes of older timber, and Apothecary Tables & Cabinets add rows of drawers. For solid wood only, in reclaimed elm, pine, oak and mango, see Solid Wood Console Tables. For more pieces for the front hall, browse Entryway Furniture.
FAQ
How deep should an entryway console be?
For most entryways and hallways, 12 to 16 inches deep leaves enough room to walk past. In a wider hall or behind a sofa, you can go up to about 18 inches.
How long should a console table behind a sofa be?
About two-thirds to the full length of the sofa back, and at or just below the height of the sofa so it doesn't block the view across the room.
How do I style a console table?
Put a lamp or a tall vase at one end, a stack of books with a small object on the other, and art or a mirror centered above. Baskets or a bench underneath add storage and fill the space below.
