Round Dining Tables

A round table changes how a meal feels. Everyone faces the center, no one is stuck at the end, and conversation reaches the whole table. Our round dining tables come in solid reclaimed elm, with its open grain and weathered surface, and in solid mango wood on sculpted pedestal bases. They suit Japandi, wabi sabi and organic modern dining rooms alike.

The Elm Round Dining Table comes in 42, 48 and 60 inch tops, which covers everything from a breakfast nook to a dining room for six. Our other round tables are all 60 inches across, in natural elm and in light brown, dark brown and black mango wood.

To pull up chairs, see Dining Chairs and Rattan & Cane Chairs. For rectangular tables, see Wabi Sabi Dining Tables.

FAQ

What size round dining table do I need?

A 42-inch table seats two to four, a 48-inch table seats four, and a 60-inch table seats four comfortably or six with armless chairs. Leave about 36 inches between the table edge and the nearest wall or furniture so chairs can pull out and people can walk behind them.

Should I choose a round or rectangular table?

Round tables fit square rooms, breakfast nooks and open floor plans best, and they're easier to walk around because there are no corners. A rectangular table makes more sense if you regularly seat more than six or have a long, narrow room.

What's the advantage of a pedestal base?

A single center base leaves the space under the edge open, so no one bumps a table leg with their knees. It also makes it easier to squeeze in an extra chair for a guest.

What's the difference between elm and mango wood?

Both are solid hardwoods. Reclaimed elm shows knots, small splits and shifts in color from its earlier life, so every top looks different. Mango wood comes from trees that no longer produce fruit and has a finer, more even grain. Our mango tables come in light brown, dark brown and black finishes.

How do I protect a solid wood tabletop?

Use trivets under hot dishes and coasters under glasses, since heat and standing water are what mark solid wood most. Wipe spills right away with a damp cloth and dry the surface. Keep the table out of strong direct sun, which can fade one side faster than the other.
