Narrow Consoles
A narrow console gives an entryway, a hallway or the back of a sofa a place to set things down without taking over the floor. Every piece here is 14 to 16 inches deep. Most are long and low, 63 to 80 inches end to end, so they still feel substantial in a tight space. Several are made from reclaimed elm and pine, with the knots, nail holes and grain that come with old timber. For deeper pieces, see all of our console tables, and for benches and storage by the door, see entryway furniture.
FAQ
How deep is a narrow console table?
Standard consoles often run 16 to 18 inches deep. Ours are 14 to 16 inches, enough room for a lamp, a tray and a few books while keeping the walkway clear.
What size console table goes behind a sofa?
Choose one a little shorter than the sofa and close to the height of its back, usually 28 to 32 inches high. Our 72 to 80 inch consoles suit most full-size sofas.
Will a console table fit in my hallway?
Measure the hallway's width and subtract the console's depth. Try to leave about 36 inches of clear walkway in front of it.
How tall should an entryway console be?
Most entry consoles stand 30 to 34 inches high, close to counter height, which makes it easy to drop keys and mail. Ours range from 29 to 34 inches.
What are these consoles made of?
The Reclaimed Elm Beam and Moe consoles are reclaimed elm. The Reclaimed Wood Console Table is reclaimed pine with a four-inch-thick top. The Grier is mango wood with cane details. Each product page lists the exact materials and finish.
