Made to Be Lived With

Natural Materials, Thoughtful Craft

A low, sculptural stool in reclaimed elm, with a wide, gently curved seat set on chunky tapered legs. The pale natural finish shows the grain and soft texture of old wood, and every edge is rounded by hand.

The Senufo stool comes from the Senufo people of West Africa, where low, carved stools were made from a single piece of wood. Ours keeps that form in reclaimed elm. At just 13 inches tall, this smaller version sits low to the ground.

Use it as a footrest in front of a reading chair, a low perch in an entryway, a plant stand, or a side table beside a low sofa. Because each one is made from reclaimed elm, no two are exactly alike. It also comes in a black finish.

Caring for solid wood

  • Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Wipe up spills right away and dry the surface fully.
  • Use coasters and placemats under hot, cold or wet items.
  • Avoid harsh cleaners and abrasive pads.
  • Keep the piece out of direct sunlight and away from heaters and air vents.

Solid wood moves with changes in humidity, so small shifts in grain and color over time are part of its character.
